Yogi Bear Jellystone Park

Over Spring Break my son and I had the opportunity to visit the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park in Burleson, Texas.

At first, I thought this park may not be a good idea for a 14 year old boy, but we had so much fun!

There was literally so much to do, we stayed busy everyday.

We only stayed two days but I could have stayed and enjoyed the park for more of an extended stay.

It is a bit pricey, which is why we hadn’t tried it yet, but we found some great coupons for the cabin. We also met friends there and split the cost.

I would like to share our experiences and what we enjoyed at Jellystone.

Golf Cart Rental

Jellystone is huge so renting a golf cart is a must! Plus, it was so much fun zooming around the park. You can also find discount codes for the golf cart rentals, we were lucky to get 50% off our rental.

Paintball

My son absolutely loved playing paintball. He could have played over and over again but our schedule was full.

Crafts

In the bears den they have crafts you can participate in. They had a free craft that you can participate in, which were centered more for the younger kids, but we payed to paint these adorable ceramics.

Mining

How cute is this little mining station?? We purchased the bag of gems in the Gift Shop and then mined them. They have many different options as well, such as fossil bags or shark teeth bags.

Fishing at the Lake

My son enjoyed fishing, I enjoyed watching these adorable ducks! Just driving the golf cart around the lake was so relaxing.

Petting Zoo

The petting zoo is only open in the mornings but we had so much fun watching these cute animals!

Ice Cream!

Omg they have the best ice cream and so many choices in the bear den. They even have a movie night, which we were unable to attend but I can imagine how great it would be eating ice cream and enjoying a flick in the Bear Den.

Photo Opportunities

They have so many cute places to take pictures, including cute little boats!

Characters

Boo Boo! Yogi bear and Boo Boo come out to visit with guests! Even my son had to get a pic with Boo Boo, well after I made him.

Camp Fun

Even though you are at a park with so many fun activities, you can still enjoy camp life at you cabin. We roasted marshmallows and made hot dogs over our fire. They also have RVs you can rent for an even more camping experience.

Archery and Lost Maze

They also have archery you can enjoy, my son didn’t enjoy it as much as paintball but it’s a great activity. We also went through a maze, at night, and could not find our way out which was terrifyingly fun!

The list of things you can do at Jellystone goes on and on.

Be sure to download the Jellystone app upon arrival so you stay up to date with activities going on each day.

They had nightly Karaoke parties and dance parties, but my son thought he was too old to participate.

They also have a water park and two swimming pools, which we did not get to use because it was still cold.

I hope you enjoyed learning about our Jellystone experience and hopefully you will get to experience the fun too!

12 Days of Christmas Memories

Christmas is such a special time of year.  Spending time with your loved ones,  all the pretty lights everywhere and getting to make precious memories with your little ones.

This year Christmas may be a little different because of the pandemic.  All the things we look forward to every year have already been canceled.

Every year I take pride in making unforgettable memories with my kiddos. One year I actually made 12 gift boxes with a special gift inside each one, giving them details for a different Christmas activities.

It was a lot of work, but so worth it.

I would like to share our 12 days of Christmas fun so that maybe you and your kids can share in making some great Christmas memories.

1st Day- Grinch Night

On the first day of Christmas we watched the Grinch and made a grinch treat. Adding green food coloring to treats can turn them into a grinchy treat.

2nd Day- Polar Express Night

On the second day of Christmas we boarded the Polar Express. Every year I surprise my kids with Polar Express tickets and we load the car with Christmas snacks to go look at Christmas lights.

3rd Day- Snow ball fight

On the third day of Christmas we had a cotton ball snow ball fight!! It was a blast!

4th Day- Christmas Movie

On the fourth day of Christmas we snuggled up on the couch and watched a Christmas movie.

5th Day- Candy Cane Hunt

On the fifth day of Christmas I hid candy canes around the house and the kids had a blast finding all of them.

6th Day- Gingerbread Houses

On the sixth day of Christmas we made gingerbread houses!

7th Day- Snow Globes

On the seventh day of Christmas we made cute little snow globe ornaments for our tree. We made them from clear plastic balls, fake snow and miniature figurines.

8th Day- Frosty the Snowman

On the eighth day of Christmas we enjoyed a frosty treat (ice cream) and watched Frosty the Snowman.

9th Day – Christmas Picnic

On the ninth day of Christmas we made Christmas cookie cutter pizza and had a picnic by the Christmas tree.

10th day- Spreading Christmas Cheer

On the tenth day of Christmas we shared the Christmas spirit with others. We left cookies for the mail man, we visited a friend in the hospital and left a treat at our local redbox.

11th Day- Christmas Cookies

On the 11th day of Christmas we baked cookies for Santa, complete with flour all over the kitchen.

12th Day – Christmas Eve

On the 12th day of Christmas they got ready for bed with new pajamas and patiently waited for morning to arrive.

I hope you enjoyed these 12 days of Christmas memories and I hope these ideas make it into your family memories this year!

Merry Christmas!

Confessions of a Mom

Let’s face it motherhood is hard! We have to keep these little human beings alive while also trying to be a perfect mom.

We all have those moments where we feel like we have failed as a mother. I would like to share my moments of shame, my confessions of a mom.

I have given my children wipe baths.

Ok yes, sometimes the days are exhausting and instead of a bath my kids get wiped down with a wet wipe or wash rag.

I have fed my kids cereal for dinner

Sometimes I do not want to even look at the oven to cook a meal so they get a nice bowl of cereal.

I have forgotten the sunscreen

Yes, my kids have gotten burnt by the sun because of their forgetful mother. At least they got pampered by mom with aloe and popsicles.

I have overslept

When the world was still open and the kids were in school, there were days they were late to school because of dear old mama pushing that snooze button.

I have cried in my car

When my kiddos were younger, there were those dreaded moments when both would be screaming at the same time. So yes, I have cried in the car, supermarket, Church, pretty much everywhere.

Even with all my shameful mom moments, I still think I am a pretty good mom. They have everything they need, they are healthy and they are loved.

My son’s birthday is coming up and I was feeling sad that we most likely will still be quarantined when his birthday gets here. It saddens me that we will not be able to party with our friends and family with a big birthday bash, but there are still ways to make sure your child has an amazing birthday.

Here are some ideas to make this birthday a birthday to remember.
