Great Texas Getaways

With all of us being quarantined right now, we can’t help but think about taking a vacation.

My family enjoys waterfront properties, away from the hustle and bustle of life.

I decided to share my Texas waterfront gems my family have enjoyed over the years, full of tranquility and relaxation.

Bacliff, TX

This was an amazing vacation rental. I really had no complaints. There was so much there for my family to enjoy, such as pool table, swimming pool, fishing dock, arcade, outdoor tv and outdoor grilling. It was absolutley amazing! Only draw backs, if you are looking to swim in the ocean, it is a bay house so it’s not for swimming. The fishing was perfect though and they included fishing equipment. Also if you do have a child in a wheelchair there is little steps throughout the house, which is manageable. I highly suggest this property and suggest you take in all the sights of this amazing house.

Lake Livingston Cottage

This small cottage was so quaint and relaxing. Right on the water of Lake Livingston, I mean you walk off the deck and there is a beach area. The kids enjoyed swimming and playing in the beach area and I enjoyed the hammock. There is great fishing and they included a pedal boat with the rental. It is not handicapped accessible, there is an upper level where the beds are but we carried our daughter up the stairs. If you are looking for a waterfront oasis, this place is perfect.

Bolivar Peninsula

If you want something beach front, look no further. This property is beach front, with a great beach perfect for finding seashells. We went during spring break one year and it was cloudy and a bit chilly but we loved every minute of this property, we even rented an extra night. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and you could hear the waves crashing to the shore from the bedroom, with the window open. It was so relaxing and the kids loved searching the beach for seashells.

Glamping on Lake Conroe

If you want camp life without really camping, this place is perfect. You can rent a RV right by the water of Lake Conroe. There is 2 RVs you can choose from. One is beyond fancy and the other is great as well but not as extremely fancy as the other. They included kayaks and life jackets. We had a great time kayaking, making s’mores and floating in the lake. Plus there is some good fishing there as well.
